Senaki GAC gathered to conduct a regular meeting.

The Chairperson of Council announced information regarding gender situatuion in the city – mainly: the women, involved in small business, as it is seen, through informal information, 60% of the population, involved in small business are women.

A regular meeting of the Gender Advisory Council (GAC) was held in the conference room of Senaki Municipality Council (Sakrebulo).

The meeting was led by Natalia Khubua, a chairperson of the GAC and a chairperson of the Finance and Budget Commission of Sakrebulo. 

-I haven’t seriously thought about gender equality before, but now I can say, that I realize the depth of this issue.

- I didn’t think of gender imbalance as a problem. Today you presented the issue in such a way, that we saw the real solutions to the problem.

The first meeting of the Gender Advisory Council was held successfully at Senaki Municipality Council.

The Council members were acquainted in more detail with the project goals and objectives, as well as planned activities.

The school number 3 of Senaki unites 450 schoolchildren (10 of them are representatives of ethnic minorities) and 54 teachers. According to the headmistress of the school Maka Naneishvili they implement various cultural-charity events.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Chairperson of Fund "Sukhumi" and deputy chairman of Senaki Municipality Council. The Memorandum defines the prospects of cooperation and responsibilities taken by the parties in the local gender policy.

Teachers, senior pupils of the school # 2 of Senaki and their parents were acquainted with the project goals and objectives of Fund "Sukhumi", and informed about the international 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence Campaign.

Fund "Sukhumi” and Senaki Municipality Council  have finished the work on the Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation.
